Are you looking for a portrait that reveals your fun and expressive side? A lesser-known surrealistic aspect of you? What about an image of your child that captures a special part of their personality?
Let me help you think outside the box so I can create that one-of-a-kind image for you. I repurpose items for costumes and props as well as make my own specific to the character. Photos are taken out on location or in my garage where I create a set to tell the story and refine them in Photoshop. If you're interested in finding out more information about my portraits, send me a message through the contact page.
Badass of the Galaxy
Behind the scenes
Badass of the Galaxy was inspired by characters Gwendoline Christie portrayed in both Star Wars and Game of Thrones. I used the Captain Phasma outfit my oldest son made for me in 2015 when we dressed up for the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Light sabers and Nerf guns were fastened to a throne-like chair I borrowed from our church and given a metallic appearance in Photoshop. A friend loaned me a fur that I draped over my son's college graduation gown and my model did the rest to bring the character to life.
Behind the scenes
Winter Joy was shot on location on frozen Lake Champlain. My model has been braving the cold to pose on the snow and ice for me since she was eight years old. Her mom has always joined in on the fun and assisted in helping with effects. In Vermont we love to walk on the lake when it freezes and this day we made it a two family outing, including our dog. The idea was to make a winter portrait of my model on the breakwater but after a few impromptu poses with our Shiba Inu, it was clear who stole the show.
